LINE LOCATING-Travis Beran, Subsurface Solutions

This class will cover basic fundamentals for locating underground pipes. Attendees will learn the different types of locators available, proper locating techniques, how to verify your locates for accuracy and how to use your locator to find shorts or coating faults. We will also briefly go over new locator technologies and GPS mapping.

This will be a basic overview of Emerson FloBoss RTU's. The lab will provide hands-on experience working with EmersonFlow computers. Topics will include an introduction of FB103, FB503 and FB107, ROCLINK software installations and operations, AGA gas flow calculations, multi-variable senor interface, radio communications, and installing and operating FST custom programs. Students need to bring laptops.

DP FLOW TRANSMITTERS-Dean Lies, Control Devices

Differential Pressure (DP) flow transmitters should be correctly calibrated and configured to provide accurate and stable flow measurement. After completing this course, each participant will be able to perform and explain the proper procedure for installation, calibration, and zeroing DP transmitters typically installed on orifice, Annubar™, flow nozzle, venturi, V-Cone™, etc…primarily elements using a HART communicator, pressure source, power supply, and instrument screwdriver.
